MY TRAVEL TOOLKIT

Great tools.
Fewer headaches.

The money, insurance and booking tools behind the journey. A short, useful list with a reason for every recommendation — and the catches left in.

A little transparency. Some links are affiliate or referral links, marked *. If you make a qualifying purchase or referral, I may receive a commission or reward. Choose what works for your trip — using a link is completely optional.

Accommodation

A BOOKING OPTION

Hostelworld

Browse hostels for your next stop, whether you want a sociable dorm or a little more privacy.

Why it’s here

A useful starting point for comparing hostels. In my destination guides, I’ll distinguish places I’ve stayed from options I’ve researched.

What to check before using it

Check recent reviews, room type, location, total price and cancellation terms. Compare the hostel’s direct rate too: an affiliate link is not a promise of the cheapest bed.

Money

ON THE ROAD WITH ME

Wise

I use Wise to manage money across currencies and pay while travelling. It earns a place in my bag alongside the less glamorous essentials.

Why it’s here

Useful when your trip crosses borders and your spending crosses currencies.

What to check before using it

Compare fees for your own transaction. Local ATM charges are separate, and a travel card does not make them disappear.

Insurance

ON THE ROAD WITH ME

SafetyWing

SafetyWing is my insurance provider for this journey. Start with the policy details and decide whether the cover fits your own plans.

Why it’s here

A starting point for comparing cover when you are travelling for longer than a holiday.

What to check before using it

Check eligibility, exclusions, limits and the policy documents before buying. My use of it is not a claim that it suits every traveller.

My SafetyWing code: JAYUNCOVERS777. Check the provider’s current offer and eligibility terms.

Tours & activities

A BOOKING OPTION

GetYourGuide

Browse tours, day trips and attraction tickets when a guide or a booked experience would add something to your visit.

Why it’s here

Useful for comparing guided options when you want context, a day trip, or help with the practical arrangements.

What to check before using it

Read the specific operator’s reviews, inclusions and cancellation terms. A listing here is not a claim that I have tried every tour.

Buy the experience.
Skip the unnecessary extras.

These links help support Jay Uncovers. They don’t change what makes a good trip: the right information, a realistic budget, and enough space to enjoy where you are. I’ll identify what I use personally and what is simply a booking option.

The journey keeps going.

Follow along for the good bits, the detours, and the occasional questionable decision.
