HELLO, MY FRIEND.
I’m Jay.
Curious by nature.
Honest by default.
A British-Canadian traveller with a weakness for good food, local wine, and taking the long way round. Consider me a travel companion with a few strong opinions and a willingness to admit when I’ve got it wrong.

WHY JAY UNCOVERS EXISTS
The world is more interesting than its highlight reel.
I want to share the experience of being somewhere — the food, the people, the small surprises, and the practical reality of getting around. The things that help you understand a place, rather than just prove you visited it.
That means championing the experiences I loved, being honest about the ones I didn’t, and passing on the lessons I learned the inconvenient way. If I can help you avoid a pitfall or find a must-do that actually deserves your time, this has done its job.
These are places through my eyes. You don’t need to have the same trip, the same budget, or the same opinion. I hope you leave with enough context to make your own choices.
See it through my eyes. Then go and make it your own.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
A few things I’ll stand by.
Firsthand means firsthand.
The experiences come from places I’ve visited. A personal verdict stays a personal verdict. If a practical detail needs checking, that matters too.
The pitfalls get a paragraph.
ATM fees, awkward transfers, crowds and costs belong in the story. A useful guide tells you where the friction is, so you can plan around it.
A must-do needs a reason.
Everyone goes there is not enough. I want to tell you why something mattered, what it offered, and who I think will enjoy it.
You’re allowed a different trip.
Resting, meeting people and lingering over lunch all count. You haven’t failed a destination because you skipped a landmark or didn’t fall in love with it.
